The DFN-CERT warns about a critical vulnerability in Windows systems.

On behalf of the Rector and the Chancellor, we request that you install the Windows updates provided as soon as possible.

Microsoft will release security updates tonight (([June 10, 2025]) to protect against a critical vulnerability in Windows systems. This vulnerability is very easy to exploit over the network and can lead to the complete compromise of systems.

The updates will be available on our WSUS server from around 8pm today.

• Network administrators and admins have already been informed about the necessity of the installation.
   
• Systems managed by IT.SERVICES will be updated automatically tomorrow morning.
• Please do not suspend or postpone the update in any way.
   
• Users of self-managed Windows systems are requested to update their systems themselves. Automatic updates should be switched on for such systems.

An acceleration of the update can be initiated manually and is recommended.
