SecAware trainings now also with RUB-specific content

SecAware.nrw - Awareness Trainings

SecAware is an online self-study program on cyber and information security for universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. SecAware is addressed to employees and students; the content is useful for both professional and private contexts.

The training courses are available at any time and from any location via the e-learning platform Moodle. RUB Moodle access via the personal login ID is required for use.

After completing all modules, users can download a personal certificate.

    Home office and mobile working have long been an integral part of everyday life for students and employees. The module highlights the different forms of working with their digital “pitfalls” and the appropriate solutions for safely navigating these dangers.

    The new topic of quishing is now available in the Online Fraud module and adds a highly topical aspect to the awareness training: the threat of QR code-based phishing attacks.

    A practical example is used to explain an attack and illustrate how attackers specifically exploit human weaknesses. Strategies for recognizing and defending against such attacks are also taught.
